Ragtag Parade

Parade – A year of carnival creativity.

We’re thrilled to announce Parade – Ragtag’s biggest and boldest project yet! Starting this autumn, Parade will bring people of all ages and abilities together to create scrap-built carnival artworks, giant puppets and joyful performances across Cumbria.

Thanks to support from Arts Council England and National Lottery Awards for All, this year-long project will celebrate everything we hold dear at Ragtag: creativity, sustainability and community. And the best part? Everyone’s invited.

What is Parade?

For years, we’ve dreamed of creating an inclusive carnival community in Kendal – a place where people can come together to make, play and celebrate side by side. With Parade, that dream is becoming a reality.

Throughout the year, you’ll have the chance to join free creative sessions designed for adults, young people and families. Everything made will become part of spectacular performances and parades at festivals across the region.
