Jane is a Community Artist and Project Manager with 30 years experience within the carnival sector and other cultural events such as mela and Chinese New Year celebrations. Awarded an ACE fellowship to Trinidad, she has worked alongside internationally acclaimed carnival artists. With a Masters in Design, she has created prize winning large scale carnival pieces, and as Creative Director and Workshop Manager for Preston carnival developed training courses in carnival arts for other artists. An experienced bid writer and project manager, she has showcased carnival arts outside of its normal setting at festivals and community events throughout the UK. Her work is currently on display at the Lancashire Archive Museum , and also in the permanent Story of Preston exhibition at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery. She has conducted master classes in carnival arts with organisations and colleges, including Ragtag Arts with whom she has been a voluntary advisor and mentor for the past 4 years.
