Ceramic Studio

Fancy Getting Creative?

Looking for a space to create your own ceramics? Join our Open Ceramics Studio and become part of a welcoming community of potters.

The studio is bright and spacious, equipped with two kilns, a potter’s wheel and a selection of hand tools – ideal for independent work.

This is a self-directed space and does not include instruction, so some prior ceeramics experience is required. New to ceramics? Try our Clay Club – a great way to get hands-on and build your skills before joining the open studio.

Become A Studio Member

Membership gives you access to our ceramics studio to work independently on your own projects. Simply book your sessions via our Google Calendar – available 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm.

We offer two membership options, both with a minimum commitment of four months:

Includes 4 x 3 hour sessions per week

Includes 1 x 3 hour session per week

To join you will need some prior ceramics experience – such as completing a course at Ragtag or elsewhere, as no tuition is provided. These sessions are designed for self-directed making only.

What Is Included In Your Membership?

Kiln Hire

Our large electric kiln is available to hire, please see pricing below:

The kiln internal dimensions are 63 x 74 x 43cm deep (octagonal)

Firing By Shelf

Shelf size: 60 x 32cm (half octagonal).

Max height 10cm.

If your work is taller than 10cm you will need 2 or maybe 3 shelves.

Your work will go into a communal firing and you will need to wait until we have enough work to fill the kiln (this could be up to a month). Every effort is made to check peoples work to ensure they do not explode, but we take no liability if your work is damaged during the firing or doesn’t turn out as you expected.

Please contact us before dropping off your work for firing.

I first came to ceramics years ago joining their adult clay club; it was a space for me to be creative and join a community of like minded people. As I grew in confidence I became a member of their ceramics studio which meant I got access to their pottery wheels and kiln and could learn at my own pace. It also gave me space to collaborate with other members and learn from each other. The studio space is light and inviting and has given me the freedom to explore this medium without the initial costs of purchasing the equipment which wouldn’t have been possible for me. My ceramics business would not be what it is today without access to an amazing space like this. Thanks Ragtag
